Camera and other news

Well, it looks like for now my camera will decide to cooperate and work.
We'll see how long this lasts.
I don't have any new pictures since the camera has not been working, so here is another one from Mary's trip to Co.
She got her nails painted, and what a great idea to do it outside. Control the mess. I wish I would have thought of that yesterday when Ruth painted her nails. I will not go into the mess she made in the bathroom, the lengths she went to hide it, and the hour it took me to get everything cleaned up.

I need a video camera

...and a new camera, mine has quite working.
Anyway, I wish I could record this morning.
The kids are playing Pokemon against each other, strategic moves are being employed, bargaining is ongoing. It is a beautiful thing.

Pokemon League

We went to our first Pokemon League today, and it was GREAT!!
I was worried that the kids would not "get" it, and then feel/be left out.
However, it went really well, they "got" it, did great, and had a really fun time.
I am so happy and excited.
This is a great opportunity for them to be with friends, learn new things, and learn from others.
Yay!!

She's home!!

Mary his home, we all made it safe and sound. I will post pictures and updates later next week.
Have a good rest of the weekend.

One more picture before we go

We are leaving soon to drive up and get Mary. This dog is Patches, Ruth got him with a coupon this week at Build A Bear. It has been a busier week then I was hoping for, but I got a lot of quality time in with Ruth, and we had lots of fun.

A perfect morning

Ruth and I watched 30 Minute Meals online last night and saw this recipe for apple fritters. They were pretty good. All it is are apple slices dipped in pancake batter and fried. Super easy.
Watching a movie.
Talking to her sister on the phone.

The new curtains

Here is a shot of two of the three curtains we made and put up today, it was a family affair. In the summer the sun comes through those windows and makes the room really warm. A mini blind for the large window was close to $40, so I decided to buy some fabric and tension rods and make some curtains myself. Total cost was $20 for the handmade window coverings, and I think it looks pretty cute.

Great Kid Quote

Ruth:
"Mom, when is Mary coming home".
Me:
"In about four days Ruth. Why, do you miss her?"
Ruth:
"There is a hole in my heart that only Mary can fill"

Wednesday with Ruth

Today was a busy day. Ruth and I watched a movie, ran some errands, made and hung curtains, and shows a vacant unit.
Then this evening Matt took us to dinner and then we went to the pool.
It was a really great day with Ruth.

Dear Mary

I miss you.
I am having fun with Mom and Dad, but I miss playing games with you.
Love, Ruth

Sick day

Ruth is not feeling well this morning, she is looking a little green.
So, we are going to Ben and Jerry's for free ice cream day, and then hang out and relax for the rest of the day.
I hope she is feeling better later today, we were planning on going to the library for "Pokemon League" and to get our weeks worth of books.
We'll see what happens.

Look what I made

I used the pattern on this website
http://mmmcrafts.blogspot.com/2008/07/drum-roll-pleasemolly-monkey-pattern.html
to make this.

We went to the aquarium today

It was great fun. And I forgot my camera!! We saw all the fish, went to the Japanese Garden, and toured the farm. We went to Mc D's for lunch, and are just now getting home to get some school done. It has been a really nice day. I'm ready for a nap.

I found a pattern for a cloth doll here

Ruth went to the museum today

We were suppose to go to the Natural History museum tomorrow, but Ruth wanted to go today with her Dad. Here are some pictures.

Sunday morning with Ruth

Here is Ruth having breakfast this morning. On the menu is oatmeal with raisins, something her sister does not like, so we get to have it this week! Also, notice the healthy root beet to drink. That's just for this morning.

Seeing her sister off

Ruth will have her week at Grandma and Grandpa's house sometime in June, so we get this week with her. On the agenda for today was a movie date with homemade pizza. We are watching "The Tale of Desperaux" with dinner, fun! Here is a shot of Ruth getting settled into the car after telling her sister "good bye". I love the smile.

Where's Mary?

Mary is off to Grandma and Grandpa's house for the week. Matt and I are so excited for her, she is such a big girl, and this is a really good thing for her. We are also enjoying time with just Ruth. We have great plans. Here are some pictures of Mary getting ready to go and heading out.

New things at our house

Here is Mary's bear now dressed. We bought it baby clothes, and they fit just fine.
I also got the kids new luggage, here is Mary's red suitcase. Ruth got the same one in black.

I might have been wrong.

Ruth and I picked this Littlest Pet Shop animal up last night, and it is really cute too.

Super cute skirt

We picked up this super cute skirt yesterday for $3. It is probably the cutest thing I have ever seen.

Up next

Got Mary's bear done and it is just now 9am. I get so much done when I get up at 5am!!
So now the bear needs clothes. I think we are going to make a swimsuit.

Doggie Neck Roll

I finished Ruth's project this morning, check it out.

And one more for fun

This is what Dash does for fun while the kids hunt for their eggs.

More Easter pictures

Easter Eggstraviganza

I will post our Easter pictures here through out the day. Here we are going to the park to hide and hunt for our eggs. It was a cold and windy day yesterday, so we bundled up well and headed out.

Our Easter plans are changing

We were going to attend a neighborhood egg hunt this morning, but it is raining (yay!), so we are on to plan B.
For me that means I have time to start my new sewing project. Ruth picked a blue plaid to make her dog neck roll, and Mary is having me make her a pink bear.
Looks like we are going to see "Hotel for Dogs" this afternoon. It's at the dollar theatre, and we've been waiting a few months for it to get there. Problem solved.

Happy Children

We have not had the best week, so it is nice to see the kids with a smile on their face.

I think this is called taking advantage of the situation

While I was on the phone, Ruth snuck into the garage and helped herself to her Easter basket. Good thing I came down in time to take a picture or two. Thank you Grandma Chris and Grandpa Drew for the Easter baskets, we love them!

What you get for 20 kisses, 20 hugs, and 20 "I Love You" Mommy's

Mary wore me down and opened an Easter basket she was given this morning. Looks like it was a good one, that's a great big smile on her face!!
