So I am using this opportunity to push her into harder books once and for all.

It is twelve chapters long, so in Mary's words "it will take two weeks and three days to finish it since I don't read on weekends".
One chapter a day is the standard, we'll head to the book store when she is done and get another American Girl chapter book.
Fourth grade here we come.
