Sentences

This week Mary has to write (and edit) three sentences.
Here is what she wrote for day one.


"I went with my Mom and sister to pick out a guinea pig. My guinea pig has a pink ear. She has a gray spot."

Terrifical

We went to the pool as a family yesterday.
While there Ruth figured out how to do a backwards roll, and Mary can now SWIM!!
It was a great day!

We got to see snow again, and play in it.
Mary walked the whole way in heels and carried her doll Reagan.
Lava formations.
Ruth complained the first 10 minutes of our hike. It brought back memories of me when I was her age and hated doing any outdoor activities. She got over it pretty fast and it made me laugh to think about how similar we are. Since we were all out there together there is hope for her yet.

A perfect day

Mary and I visited an Antique store in Los Ranchos that sells the Middleton dolls Mary loves.
This neat package arrived for Ruth. *
We put the puzzle together and read the clues.

We did the first couple of pages of her mystery.
*This is a program from Highlights called Top Secret Adventure. You get to travel the world solving mysteries with these monthly kits they send you in the mail. It's really neat and Ruth and I are starting with Greece.

V-Day

Winter festival

Last night was the third grade winter festival at the school.
It was a lot of fun and a lot of work.
We were at the school from 2pm to after 7pm setting up and having fun.
Ruth sang a song with her class and a solo.
I was helping so I missed both performances.
Mary sang a song with her friend Jada, I missed that one to.
Never the less we had fun!

Tepee

Here is the foundation painted the correct colors of brown and gold per Ruth's instruction.

Buffalo

Ruth has been sculpting all afternoon and is almost done.
We have three buffalo making a family (Dad, Mom and baby) a few pots and Matt is helping her make a bow and arrow.
This project was a lot more fun than I thought it would be!

Green board

What are we doing?
Ruth gets to build a tee pee for school and we are getting started on it today.
The next step is to sculpt a pot and buffalo and paint the board in another layer of brown and then gold for the plains.

When it rains it pours

Rut woke up with a fat, swollen upper lip. Will this poor little girl ever be healthy again?

On to another one

Mary and Matt are now under the weather and Ruth is getting better by the hour.
I am keeping Ruth out of school tomorrow just to be safe, but she is so much better than even last night.
We are spending our Sunday afternoon watching a movie with lunch.
Hopefully I can get Mary to take a much needed nap and will have everyone healthy by Tuesday.

Diaper making fun

We made three diapers for Mary's Baby Alive today.
They turned out really well and fit perfectly.

How we are spending our sick days

Ruth spent a lot of the day sleeping again.
We played a game.

Now it's Mary's turn

Ruth is finally feeling better, just in time for Mary to get what she had.
The laundry count is at three loads this morning.
Oh the fun!

This must be a record

Another day off school tomorrow, this time to conserve energy.
Ruth really picked the best week to get sick!
She is still no better and Mary has had enough of being home with me and her Dad.
Lot's going on with me and our real estate business, please pray for all of us!

Sick kiddo update

Ruth is no better today, she is the sickest she has been since Sunday.
We took her to the Dr this afternoon and she will either get better or develop a double ear infection and strep throat (again) in the next day or two.
Please pray that she gets better really soon, I am getting worried at how bad she is feeling and there is nothing I can do.

Another snow day

We are home for our second snow day in a row.
The snow has all melted, but it is cold!
Ruth is still sick, Mary is driving me crazy.
Matt went into work this morning feeling somewhat better.
I'm just hoping I make it through the day with some measure of grace and dignity.

School is canceled for the day, this should be fun.
