Halloween photos

Our Candy Corn witch.
Only one person passed out candy corn which was a bummer (they are my favorite) but she was still super cute.
Our Gothic Witch.
Ruth with her friend from school, Walter. He came with us om the first round and then went home while we went out a few more times.

Happy Halloween everyone.

So is the oven.
My restful weekend of time with the kids has evaporated!
Ah well, better luck next weekend.

Boo!

We made these shirts at Michael's last weekend. They say "Boo" and the O's are the girls upside down painted hand prints.
Pretty cute for $5 a piece.

Sick Ruth

Double ear infection and strep throat, Ruth is one sick little girl.

Fake Nails

At $1 for the set this is a fun way for Mary to experiment with fake nails.

On our day off

There was a plumbing issue at the school so we had Friday off! This is how we enjoyed Thursday night not having to go to bed early!

Our vegetarian

Mary is no longer eating meat with her dinner.
Instead she is eating three vegetables, and if I roast them she goes back for thirds!

Mary's costume: Candy Corn witch

Ruth's costume: Gothic witch

This is the first year was have gone shopping for a costume for the girls and they picked the cutest outfits.

Sunday baking

Ruth made cinnamon swirl bread and Mary created Turkey treats.

Bathroom face lift

The after.
The before.

A new curtain and picture for the girls bathroom and I called it a day.

Mary's side of the room

Mary went with a Hello Kitty Halloween theme.

Ruth's side of the room

Using the frames I already had Matt and I picked out new coloring pages and after coloring them put them into the frames and on the wall.
A very quick and easy way to change up a room.

Some new touches

Matt and I painted the bookcase a leather brown and put wrapping paper in the back to make it look better.
A new photo for their room, one of three things I bought.
And then it changes on you, how cool is that.
Ruth has a new icky sicky green blanket and Mary has a solid dark pink blanket.
I also got new bed skirts in brown to replace the white one's I had dyed purple.

A new bedroom

I have struggled with the girls bedroom since we moved to NM. Ruth and Mary have always shared a room and once they got older and their interests are not the same, finding a theme for the both of them is a challenge.
In Texas they had a western room. Red walls, gingham curtain, and Woody and Jesse from Toys Story on the walls.
When we moved to our house in NM their room had pineapple yellow walls I tried for some time in vain to work with the color before painting their room white with polka dots.
The polka dots worked for a while before I tried to turn their room into a summer themed more grown up room.
I struck out on that room and painted over the polka dots.
Then their room was unicorns and dragons.
Cute but really plain, not very colorful, and it didn't fit their personalities.
Enter October and a few days with family in town to watch the kids.
Here is the before picture of their room, the reveal to come in the next post.

The cutest rag doll I have ever seen, and I made it

Embroidered face. I had to learn how to satin stitch the eyes.
Undressed doll with curly hair.

Cute outfit, I will be adding a bib tomorrow, or maybe not!
