Lemon Meringue pie and Legos

Someone please take pity on me and send Ruth a good non sweet pie recipe.
This was our second attempt at a meringue pie and this one was too sweet and the pudding was not cooked long enough due to Ruth choosing her friends over her Mom.
Anyway, Mary and Dad spent Sunday afternoon building with Lego's which was fun to watch and listen to.

Watch Mary jump rope, not

How she found me out I will never know.

Jumping Rope

As we no longer watch t.v. the girls are finding many new ways of amusing themselves.
Here is one of them.

Fall is here

The weather is not much cooler here in ABQ but it is Fall so the top of our game cube is now decorated accordingly.

Rise and Shine

With no more t.v. this is how our mornings look before breakfast.

Mornings

How cute is Ruth first thing in the morning?

For Sale

NM State Fair is this week and we have a school parking lot fundraiser.
The girls went with me last weekend to get sign making supplies and we found a Ruth for sale.

Skull Cupcakes

Frosting the cupcakes.
Teeth.
A nose.
The finished product!
Thank You Aunt Susan for the cookbooks, they are quite handy and we are enjoying them so much!!

Piggy back ride

What to do without t.v.

Play games on the computer.

Mary's pick

Mary made pecan pie yesterday. She had a rough start to the week and then really turned it around. The pie was excellent and the whipped cream was made with brown sugar and vanilla, a really good twist!

Piggy in a pot

Really it should be Piggy in a bucket. Piggy was in the sandbox so she needed a bath. Mary filled up her sandbox bucket with warm water and got the Pig clean.

Reading Cookbooks

Here we have Ruth climbing on the counters to get to the Fall Cookbooks. Look for her recipe pick later on today.

No tv?

With netflix off and a four day weekend we are having to get creative.

This means the kids play together and with Mom and Dad much more than before.

I took my turn this morning, now Matt is up.

Lemon Squares

This years second grade class is having the same issues last years class had, bullying.

There are three Mom's who are fighting this problem with the help of the teacher (I am one of the three) and for Mary the positive reinforcement of making new and better friends is baking with Mom on the weekends.

She wouldn't let me take a picture "during" so here is the after.

And man are these lemon bars good.

Blueberry pie

Ruth had a glowing report from her teacher, so we baked a blueberry pie.
