Pumpkin Princess Piggy

Nibs loves pumpkin. Guess I know what to do with the jack-o-lanterns after Halloween.

Pumpkin pictures

This is the stencil I used on Mary's pumpkin. It's a $6 kit from Walmart I bought two years ago after Halloween 75% off. Works great.
Mary's pumpkin. A cat head.
Ruth's pumpkin. Two coffins. One with a ghost? one with a bat.

Happy Halloween

Watching the snow come down

Trick or Treat

Mary getting Piggy ready for her first snow.
Her take on Piggy's first snow.
"I hope I can get her out".

View from my desk

Told you it was really coming down.

Sick kids

Ruth has the flu and an allergic reaction to something no one can identify.
She has some hives, a very fat and swollen lip, fever, and a cough.

Mary has lost her voice.
Not sure yet if she has a fever, but she is also not feeling well.

Good thing we have the rest of the week off.
Ruth for sure would not be going to school/

First day of school update

It went great!
Both girls did well, surprisingly Mary had a better day than Ruth, but we all made it, and are all well.
I was nervous through the day, wanted to know what they were doing.
Were they doing all right.
Well they did great.
No need to worry at all.
Now maybe I will sleep tonight.
Maybe.
We have to get up and do it again in the morning after all.

There they go

At the school, dropping the girls off

On our way out the door

And we got there early!
It is raining this morning, has been since last night, so these were taken in the garage.

Getting ready for school

Sorry, with the pig was the only way Mary would let me take a photo.
These were taken after breakfast, hair and teeth brushed, shoes on, heading out the door.

What Ruth does with Piggy

This is her Build A Bear dog dish.

Mary's baby

I think the pig is happy the is happy the kids are in school.

We are ready

First day of school, here we come.
I got all the kids school supplies for $20.
Total.
For both girls.
Lunches are packed, backpacks are very full.
We are ready.

Ahhhhh

This is so nice.
Ruth's teacher emailed her supply list.
15 items total.
5 items I have already.
Man, this is nice.

New office

Working on switching the "school room" to my office.
The desk will be nice so I can help the kids with their homework next year, but now I have a place to get my work done which is very helpful.
I'm looking forward to playing games with the kids now that we won't be together 24/7.

Update

Well, it has happened.
The kids are going to school Wednesday.
It's a charter school called Mountain Mahogany.
It was my first choice and I got called this morning that if I wanted them to go, both girls were in.
Ruth is excited, Mary is nervous, and I'm going to be sick.
I'll post through out the week all our getting ready and how things are going.

More like her Dad, or her Uncle Will

This is Mary asleep. Her new thing is to sleep on top of the covers. Her Dad did this so he wouldn't have to make his bed every day. Her Uncle Will used to sleep under blankets only, no top sheet. So who does she take after more?
Ruth is more like me. She's got her little nest going. She has four blankets over her, and is so nice and toasty warm.
